Module content | The mining industry requires that students are exposed to the mining industry by visiting a collection of mines with the purpose of familiarising them with current trends in mining practice and mining methods. This module hopes to provide a “snapshot” of the mining industry as it is at the time of the tour. This tour requires attendance and participation in five one-day visits to mines. The excursions are organised during the first semester of the third year, and take place during the July recess at the end of the semester. Students must, before the second semester commences, submit a group report on the visits during the second semester. |
